Access

Facilities and equipment booked through this site are available to students studying modules in the Department of Music at the University of Liverpool.
Certain facilities require an induction before access permissions are granted, please consult with your academic advisor for more information.

Equipment Bookings

You can collect and return your order from the Equipment Store by speaking to a member of the Technical Team during office hours.

The Equipment Drop, located next to the Equipment Store, is available to collect and return equipment bookings out-of-hours (17:00-23:00 weekdays, all day weekends) for the Recording Studios and Pop Practice Rooms.
Please note that swipe access is required for the Equipment Drop.

For evening bookings (17:00-23:00) please submit your order BEFORE 16:45, to allow the Technical Team time to process the request.
For weekend bookings please submit your booking BEFORE 16:45 on Friday.
Bookings made after these times will not be made available.

Key Collection

Rooms that require an induction restrict unauthorised access with keys.
During office hours, please collect keys for Recording Studios from Reception. Speak to a member of the Technical Team if Reception is closed.

For out-of-hours sessions please collect the keys you require from Campus Support.
They can be found in Bedford House (building on the corner of Mulberry and Oxford Street). As you enter the building on Oxford Street, it is the first door on your left. Please ring the bell and ask for the room key you require.
Be advised that Campus Support may ask for a temporary deposit (£5, bank card) before you can take the keys.

Policies

Equipment Check-in/out

Students may submit a booking on Connect2 at any time, making it convenient to reserve equipment well ahead of rehearsals or studio sessions. Currently, during office hours (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm), there is no requirement for any minimum advance booking notice before items can be collected from the Equipment Store, which means that it is possible to submit short-notice bookings followed by immediate check-out at the store.

However, there may be times when technicians are not able to respond immediately to last-minute bookings as they may be busy with technical support elsewhere or taking part in staff meetings. In those cases, please call a member of the Music Technical Team on the mobile numbers provided (Technical Office and Equipment Store doors) and they will advise you of their availability.

We understand that sometimes short-notice bookings are necessary to accommodate last-minute changes in rehearsal/studio times and equipment requirements, which is why the Music Technical Team endeavour to provide a continuous and flexible check-out service during office hours without the need for any minimum advance booking notice. This includes the lunchtime period. You will appreciate that sometimes delays or disruptions to this service are unavoidable for the reasons mentioned above, and we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
